Welcome to 2010! I hope the year is off to a great start for you, and that you’ll be joining us in Chicago during the College Art Association meeting. It will no doubt be cold and windy, but the conversation and networking will be warm and engaging.
In addition to the more random opportunities at CAA to run into old friends and colleagues, remember that we have the annual NCAA reception on Thursday, February 11, in Bob Shay’s room, 5-7 p.m. Make sure you get there and socialize with old friends and new! Call Bob’s room on the hotel phone or ask any board member for the room number.
Bring along anyone to the reception who might be interested in joining our organization. We all can use the support and wisdom these days of people who truly understand the challenges and opportunities that we share as arts administrators.
The board will meet to help our friend John Yancey finish planning the unique Austin experience that will be our annual conference next November. Please pass along your ideas to any board member or to John directly. And definitely plan to attend the conference at the University of Texas, November 17-21, 2010.
We hope to see you in Chicago next month, and certainly in Austin next fall! Please let me know if you have questions. If you have ideas about new ways that NCAA can help you become a better arts administrator, please contact me or any board member.
See you soon!
Sally
